NextComputing.com Digital & Brand Experience Redesign
Client
NextComputing — Manufacturer of enterprise portable workstations, edge servers, and cloud-native AI deployment hardware.
Key Challenge
The existing web presence needed to evolve from an engineer-centric product catalog into a high-converting, modern digital platform capable of speaking to diverse audiences—from military defense contractors and enterprise AI developers to broadcast media engineers.
Project Goals & Strategy
- Refine Brand Positioning: Establish NextComputing visually as an innovative, high-reliability leader in edge AI computing and high-performance hardware.
- Streamline User Journeys: Simplify navigation across a broad hardware portfolio (portable workstations, rackmount servers, fly-away kits, AI clusters) so enterprise buyers and technical specs are easily accessible.
- Unify Visual System: Create a cohesive digital design system—unifying product renders, icons, typography, and color schemes—across web pages, product data sheets, and campaign assets.
- Optimize E-Commerce & Lead Generation: Integrate WooCommerce and clear call-to-action (CTA) paths for custom quote requests and direct hardware configurations.

Visual & UX Design Process
Phase A: Architecture & Wireframing
- Sitemap Restructuring: Reorganized complex product lineups into intuitive categories: Portable Workstations, Short-Depth Rackmounts, Fly-Away Kits, and Industry Solutions.
- User Flow Design: Created low-friction pathways targeting two primary buyer personas:
- Technical Evaluators looking for fast access to datasheets, specs, and architecture diagrams.
- Decision-Makers / Procurement seeking turn-key solutions, case studies, and quote requests.
Phase B: Visual Identity & Design System
- Modern Aesthetic: Adopted a crisp, high-tech dark/light UI palette optimized for displaying hardware renders and technical specifications clearly.
- Custom Visual Assets:
- Produced high-resolution product photos, renders and 3D-style graphics to showcase rugged chassis designs, portability features, and internal GPU/CPU configurations.
- Designed custom iconography for consistent visual reference to the company brand.
Phase C: Development & Customization
-
- WordPress & WooCommerce Customization: Developed a custom child theme framework tailored to NextComputing’s publishing needs and product variations.
- Responsive & High-Performance UI: Ensured rapid load times and fluid responsiveness across desktop, tablet, and mobile displays for tradeshow attendees and remote enterprise clients.

Key Features & Solutions
- Clear, Scannable Product Pages: Structured sections separating high-level overviews, detailed technical specifications, downloadable PDF data sheets, and configuration options.
- Solution-Based Landing Pages: Targeted landing pages for key verticals (Cybersecurity, Cloud-Native/Kubernetes Edge, AI/ML Infrastructure, Military & Aerospace).
Results & Commercial Impact
- Brand Elevation: Successfully repositioned NextComputing to compete visually with top-tier hardware manufacturers and enterprise tech brands.
- Lead Generation & Engagement: Increased high-intent quote requests through streamlined CTA placement.
- Reduced bounce rates on product specs and datasheet downloads.
- Sales Enablement: Unified digital and print touchpoints, allowing the sales team to leverage live website layouts during client demos and industry tradeshows (e.g., KubeCon, Rocky Mountain Cyberspace Symposium).
